Almost every person who has a success story out there today once walked through the paths of failure.
Although failure is said to be a springboard for success, it’s sometimes difficult to keep trying when you’ve failed so many times. This is especially true when you get to a certain age/stage in life and nothing spectacular is happening- all those childhood and youthful dreams now seem like a huge joke and you just want to curl up with a good book and glass of wine and live quietly for the rest of your life.
But it’s never too late to achieve your desires no matter how old you are or how far you think you are from the finish line.
In my best-selling book, Celebrate Your Deliciousness; I wrote, “Allowing yourself to explore your deepest desires can be very intimidating and frightening. You may also be in a place where you are feeling so lost and numb, that you don’t think you have the time or that it is a waste to consider what you really want out of your life. It’s important to remember that a euphoric explosion of a life of fulfillment does not usually happen by chance but by design.
In my book, I outline two important steps that you can take to move from that screw-this- I’m-so- done point to the point where you JUMP IN and start achieving your dreams and aspirations.
1. Keep Your Goals Close to Your Heart
No matter what your goals are… whether it’s giving up sugar, drinking more water daily or buying that dream home, you need to believe your desires are in the NOW. And, you need to keep adding more and more desires to your
Most people make that mistake of setting goals once and then leaving it at that. I recommend that you continue to add in new desires every single day.
“Your life will transform when you start living based on your inner guidance and take action on your most important desires”
So for the next thirty days, you should review your list of desires daily.
Continue to write down in your journal what you want to accomplish daily a well as those qualities that you need to develop that’ll bring you closer to your goals.
2. Pair Mindfulness With Visualization
One of the most effective strategies for achieving your dreams is visualization. A lot of people have problems with achieving their dream because they don’t take time to create a real vision for their life and the harsh reality is that when you don’t have a vision for your life…your life becomes directed by other people and circumstances.
Visualization helps you keep your visions in mind while mindfulness helps you quiet your chaotic, distracting thoughts and feelings so that you can fully concentrate on achieving your dreams and goals.
3. Forget about Perfection, Just do Something
One thing that holds most people back is that they want everything to be perfect right from the start and when it doesn’t seem so, they lose focus and motivation.
It’s important for you to understand that things don’t always have to make sense in the beginning. It’s okay to make mistakes and continue working on that task and before you know it, everything will fall into place.
Expecting that chapter you’re writing or that project you’re working on to look perfect from the start will hold you back.
Remember, no matter how far away you are from the starting point, it is not too late to JUMP IN to your life and your desire to cultivate a life you adore.
